(1858 to 1869) – Author: Allan Kardec. This collection brings together all volumes of the Spiritist Review, from year I (1858) to year XII (1869): 1858 (Year I), 1859 (Year II), 1860 (Year III), 1861 (Year IV), 1862 (Year V), 1863 (Year VI), 1864 (Year VII), 1865 (Year VIII), 1866 (Year IX), 1867 (Year X), 1868 (Year XI) and 1869 (Year XII). The issues for the first four months of 1869 were published while Allan Kardec was still alive. The issue for April 1869, although written by Kardec, was published posthumously, as he had already passed away before the printing was finalized—therefore, this issue is considered a posthumous work. We have also included the fifth issue of the Review, not written by Kardec but entirely dedicated to his death and funeral, as well as the sixth issue, which contains the first spiritual communications after his passing. The second half of 1869 marks a new phase for the Review, without the direction of Master Kardec, which is why it is not included in this collection, which exclusively gathers his works and special writings about his life and legacy. — J.
