Il est int\u00e9ressant de noter comment la presse, \u00e0 l&#039;\u00e9poque, citait de tels \u00e9v\u00e9nements sans grand besoin de les critiquer sans fondement, comme on le voit souvent aujourd&#039;hui.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>En lisant les admirables r\u00e9ponses des Esprits dans l&#039;\u0153uvre de M. Kardec, on s&#039;est dit qu&#039;il y aurait un beau livre \u00e0 \u00e9crire. Nous avons vite reconnu que nous nous \u00e9tions tromp\u00e9s : le livre est d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9crit. Nous ne le g\u00e2cherions que si nous essayions de le compl\u00e9ter.<\/em><\/p><cite>G. Du Chalard &#8211;   <em>coursier parisien<\/em>, du 11 juin 1857 <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Kardec finit par raconter comment le Livre a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9, dans sa premi\u00e8re \u00e9dition, en grande partie avec l&#039;aide des s\u0153urs Baudin. Apr\u00e8s la premi\u00e8re \u00e9dition, il fut recommand\u00e9 par les Esprits eux-m\u00eames de proc\u00e9der \u00e0 une r\u00e9vision de l&#039;ouvrage. Il est important de souligner que Kardec a toujours cherch\u00e9 \u00e0 confirmer les r\u00e9ponses obtenues principalement par des m\u00e9diums intuitifs avec des m\u00e9diums m\u00e9caniques, l\u00e0 o\u00f9 l&#039;influence du m\u00e9dium serait moindre ou inexistante. De plus, sur les questions les plus compliqu\u00e9es, il recherchait un plus grand nombre \u00ab d&#039;opinions \u00bb, posant la m\u00eame question \u00e0 diff\u00e9rents esprits, \u00e0 travers des m\u00e9diums partout.
