Final Point: The Reencounter of Spiritism with Allan Kardec

Free thought, in its broadest sense, represents free examination, freedom of conscience, and faith grounded in reason. It symbolizes intellectual emancipation and moral independence, complementing physical freedom. The free-thinker does not accept being a slave to the thoughts of others, but thinks for himself, assuming his own opinions. Thus, free-thinkers can exist in all beliefs and convictions. In this context, free thought elevates human dignity, transforming the individual into an active and intelligent being, instead of a machine that merely believes. In "Final Point: The Reencounter of Spiritism with Allan Kardec," Wilson Garcia offers a critical analysis of Spiritism, pointing out historical deviations and defending fidelity to the original teachings of Allan Kardec, using accessible language for both beginners and scholars.

Allan Kardec's Legacy

The Legacy of Allan Kardec This is an in-depth historical and doctrinal study of the Spiritist movement in France between 1867 and 1887. The work critically analyzes the adulteration of La genèse, les miracles et les predictions selon le spiritualisme (The Genesis), in addition to exposing serious events that marked the period and influenced the course of Spiritism after Kardec's death.

Based on primary documentation, the book uses verifiable sources obtained directly from the National Archives of France, the National Library of France in Paris, and institutions such as the Confederación Espiritista Argentina and the Asociación Espiritista Constancia in Buenos Aires. This documentary basis supports the analysis and eliminates speculation.

The work aims to correct a historical error that has persisted since the 19th century: the dissemination of adulterated versions of The Genesis as if they were definitive. At the same time, it presents concrete examples of pioneering spiritualists who remained faithful to the original content, establishing a contrast between doctrinal fidelity and historical deviation.

Beyond historical research, the book draws practical implications: it demonstrates how institutional decisions and misinterpretations produce lasting effects on the transmission of a doctrine. The result is not merely a recovery of the past, but an analysis of the consequences of distorting original sources.

The text presents the reader with an objective point: understanding Allan Kardec's legacy requires access to authentic sources and a critical analysis of the processes that altered his work. Without this, any subsequent interpretation rests on compromised foundations.

Spiritist Review Collection – 1858 to 1869 – 12 Volumes

Complete Collection of the Spiritist Review – 12 Volumes

(1858 to 1869) – Author: Allan Kardec. This collection brings together all volumes of the Spiritist Review, from year I (1858) to year XII (1869): 1858 (Year I), 1859 (Year II), 1860 (Year III), 1861 (Year IV), 1862 (Year V), 1863 (Year VI), 1864 (Year VII), 1865 (Year VIII), 1866 (Year IX), 1867 (Year X), 1868 (Year XI) and 1869 (Year XII). The issues for the first four months of 1869 were published while Allan Kardec was still alive. The issue for April 1869, although written by Kardec, was published posthumously, as he had already passed away before the printing was finalized—therefore, this issue is considered a posthumous work. We have also included the fifth issue of the Review, not written by Kardec but entirely dedicated to his death and funeral, as well as the sixth issue, which contains the first spiritual communications after his passing. The second half of 1869 marks a new phase for the Review, without the direction of Master Kardec, which is why it is not included in this collection, which exclusively gathers his works and special writings about his life and legacy. — J.
